To answer your question, Minister Octavia agreed to explain how she operates a motor vehicle.
“It’s quite simple, really. My car does not resemble one a humanoid creature would use. As you can no doubt tell by my hooves, I can not operate such a vehicle. Instead, the controls in my car are designed to be operated with hooves: the steering ‘wheel’ has places where I can use my hooves to steer it, and my pedals work relatively similarly to a human . Of course the seat is redesigned as well, in order to let a pony such of myself sit comfortably.

“The Dominion is relatively favorable of the Militaristic Union, although it does remain mildly concerned with the somewhat…negative attitudes potrayed by the Kouralians towards ponies. ~Octavia.”

“This settlement—on the site of present day Erota—was named ‘Lubacka’, named for both the mountains that surrond the Pass of Erota where the settlement stood, and for the vast mineral wealth that could be uncovered in those same mountains. From there, the name slowly changed over time to the current ‘Lubyak’. The first recorded instance of the use of the actual name ‘Lubyak’ instead of ‘Lubacka’ or any number of transitional names was in an Ilenan Solar Empire administrative file in 1456, referring to mineral production in ‘the Lubyak’. It was apparent that by this time, the name had taken on a new meaning, different from the original meaning of the Ilenan name.”

The conference of revolutionary leaders that first established the Dominion was alleged to have produced a not insignificant list of casualties, but in modern times most political debates in Erota seem to have calmed immensely.
